Since 1996 active in the area of environmental sciences, environmental technologies and life cycle assessment. After having worked for several years in ENEA, the Italian national Research agency for energy, innovation and environment, since 2005 joined the European Commission. Michele worked 5 years in the Research and Innovation department of the Commission, conceiving, promoting and supporting research in the area of eco-innovation, environmental technologies and life cycle assessment. Since 2010 he is working in the Environment Department of the Commission where he has first lead the EU Ecolabel Team and then, since 2013 the Environmental Footprint Team.

Eric Mieras is the Managing Director of PRé Consultants, a global leader in life cycle assessment (LCA) software, life cycle information tools and consultancy services. Eric has worked with large corporations, start-ups, academic institutions and SMEs to successfully increase their positive impact on people, planet and profit. He has helped teams and individuals grow professionally, personally and collaboratively.
Eric has extensive experience in working across different industries, scaling up start-ups and innovations with a focus on information technology, professional services and sustainability. He is uniquely positioned to take sustainability metrics mainstream. Eric understands the value of deep technical expertise for broader audiences and knows how to make this knowledge accessible and relevant.
As a linking pin bringing people from different fields together, Eric believes in the power of people, communities and networks that have a shared purpose. That is also how he leads PRé Consultants, helping the company contribute to positive change with its profound knowledge and vast experience in Life Cycle Information.
In addition to a Master of Law degree in law and environmental studies from Utrecht University, Eric holds a Master of Science in communication studies from the University of Amsterdam and a postgraduate certificate in change management from VU Amsterdam.
Marcin Sadowski, PhD
Head of the Raw Materials sector, Executive Agency for Small and
Medium-Sized Enterprises (EASME) of the European Commission
Marcin Sadowski obtained a PhD in physics from the University of Warsaw in
1994 and later worked on investigating the optical properties of semiconducting
structures and materials at the University of Warsaw, the University of
Montpellier, and the High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Grenoble. In 2007 he
moved to the European Commission in Brussels. For several years, he was a
Research Programme Officer at the Directorate General for Research of the
European Commission, responsible for research on advanced materials for
electronics and photonics. Since 2014, he is the Head of the Raw Materials
sector at the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (EASME)
of the European Commission, responsible for the research and innovation
projects of Horizon 2020 concerned with Raw Materials.
